What does a membership include?

Choose 10, 20, or 30 shop hours each month, with access to the workshop and its equipment. Some tools require additional instruction or supervision. Ask us about the equipment you need for your project.

When does my membership start?

Your membership begins on the start date we confirm with you, after your paperwork and required safety training are complete. Getting set up doesn’t use up your membership time.

Do I need safety training?

Before independent shop use, complete one ILW training path: the Safety Class if you’re proficient with shop tools, or Foundations to Woodworking if you’re a beginner or unsure about working on your own. Foundations includes safety instruction and a guided project. Take one class, not both. Adding a class is optional during membership checkout. If you’ve already completed ILW training, tell us so we can verify it. Already paid or have approved coverage? Ask ILW for a no-charge booking link.

Do unused hours carry over?

No. Unused hours expire at your monthly reset. Each new period starts with your membership’s full included allowance.

How do membership terms and renewal work?

Choose a 3-, 6-, or 12-month term and pay monthly throughout that term. Your rate stays protected while you keep the same plan and term active, even if membership prices increase. Your membership automatically renews for another full term of the same length. For example, a 3-month membership renews for another 3 months. To stop the next renewal, contact the ILW team at least 48 hours before your renewal date. This deadline applies to the end of your full term, not your next monthly payment. Your current term still applies unless Anna approves an exception.

What should I bring?

Bring your own wood and project supplies.
